NOIA members ‘cross the pond’ to attend Offshore Europe

St John’s, NL – September 9, 2009NOIA members (Newfoundland & Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association) helped to make up a delegation of 35 people representing 15 Newfoundland and Labrador oil & gas supply and service sector companies attending Offshore Europe 2009. The delegation was led by the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador’s provincial Department of Natural Resources who provided support for the group in partnership with NOIA.  Representatives from Nalcor Energy Oil & Gas were also in attendance.

Offshore Europe is the largest upstream oil and gas event outside North America. The conference and exhibition is held every two years in Scotland in September.

“Offshore Europe provides a great opportunity for NOIA members to explore business opportunities, share our harsh environment expertise and see firsthand the latest technology and solutions available for our industry,” said NOIA President & CEO Robert Cadigan.

“Our members were eager to re-establish the strong business ties that existed between the supply and service sectors of Atlantic Canada and Europe,” said Geoff Cunningham, Chair, NOIA Board of Directors.

The biennial Offshore Europe conference brings together industry professionals from 96 countries worldwide. Offshore Europe is now in its fourth decade and has firmly established itself as the biggest oil industry event outside North America.
