ST. JOHN’S, June 12, 2009
- The Newfoundland & Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (NOIA) welcomes Dave Collyer, President of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) to its 2009 Conference,

North: Arctic Challenges - East Coast Solutions
on June 18, 2009.
CAPP represents 130 companies that explore for, develop and produce natural gas, natural gas liquids, and crude oil throughout Canada. Prior to joining CAPP in September 2008, Mr. Collyer was President and Canada Country Chair with Shell Canada.
“NOIA and CAPP have a long history of working together to facilitate the development of our oil and gas resources,” said Robert Cadigan, President & CEO of NOIA. “David has a deep understanding of the oil and gas industry developed over 30 years in both government and the private sector. We are privileged to have him as part of the 2009 Conference and look forward to his presentation,
Energy, Environment, Economy - The Outlook for Canada's Oil and Gas Sector
on the last day of conference.”
Mr. Collyer holds a B.Sc. in Mineral Engineering (Petroleum) and an MBA from the University of Alberta. His professional affiliations include the Association of Petroleum Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA), the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM).
“David also has a local connection,” said Cadigan, “during his time as Vice-President with Shell, he represented CAPP Executive in the Atlantic Energy Roundtable process. The roundtable process was a good example of industry, the supply and service community and governments working together to address regulatory and competitiveness challenges of the region.”
David Collyer is the closing luncheon keynote speaker on the third and final day of the conference on Thursday, June 18, 2009. His presentation will take place at 12:30 p.m. at the Delta Hotel, St. John’s.
