NOIA elects 2009 Board of Directors
29 January, 2009, St John’s, NL
– Earlier today at the Delta Hotel, more than 200 representatives from members companies of the Newfoundland & Labrador Oil & Gas Industries Association (NOIA) –looked ahead through 2009.
The membership gathered to elect a new vice-chair and five new directors at their Annual General Meeting, and listened attentively as Trevor Pritchard, General Manager Operations, Husky Energy offered a preview of Husky’s plans for 2009.
Chair for 2009, Geoff Cunningham, welcomed the newly assembled team and charged them with the task of working together for the benefit of industry as a whole. The newly elected members of the 2009 Board of Directors are:

Cunningham cited information and advocacy as two of the cornerstones of his chairship and committed that at all times, particularly in times of financial uncertainty, NOIA will carry industry through. He said, “NOIA will continue to be the catalyst ensuring that all stakeholders continue to see the opportunities in our industry, the benefits to our province and business community. We will ensure that those that can influence the growth of this industry spend 2009 doing just that.”
NOIA President & CEO Bob Cadigan released the Association’s Annual Report, and presented members with a stalwart strategy in the current economic climate. “After 30 years in the oil and gas business NOIA members have the savvy to make hay when the sun shines and, if the financial uncertainty hits hard, we have the fortitude to get even more creative and innovative to weather the storm.”
